Konvision KXM-2720S 27″ 4K/8K HDR QD-OLED Mastering Monitor

The Konvision KXM-2720S is a 27-inch HDR mastering monitor built on a 10-bit QD-OLED panel with 3840×2160 resolution. Quantum dots control the colour of each sub-pixel, and the panel reaches 1000 nits peak brightness, a 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio and at least 80% of the BT.2020 gamut, with 178 degree viewing angles in both directions. Signal processing runs at 4:4:4 12-bit.

Its input section is what separates it from the 4K-only models. Four 12G-SDI inputs with loop outputs accept 8K up to 60p as a quad-link signal in SQD or 2SI format, 4K as a single 12G-SDI link, or 4K as 4x 3G-SDI quad-link. A single 12G-SDI link carries up to 4096×2160 60p. An SFP+ cage takes fibre SDI, and an HDMI 2.0 input with loop-out can also output SDI or SFP+ sources. SDI 2 can deliver 4K to HD down-conversion and HDR to SDR conversion, with NBCU and CMG LUT support for simultaneous 4K HDR and HD SDR production.

Colour handling covers Rec.709, EBU, DCI-P3, DCI-P3 D65 and Rec.2020, HLG system gammas from 1.03 to 1.33, ST2084 PQ with soft roll-off, and VPID or Payload ID detection that sets colour space and EOTF automatically. Built-in camera Log conversions, custom 3D LUT loading over USB or network, HDR waveform, vectorscope, CIE diagrams and an HDR area display that flags content above 203 and 260 nits make it a complete grading and QC tool.
