ALEXA Mini LF SUP 7.2

The latest release for the ALEXA Mini LF is all about connectivity and control. A major update to the WiFi capabilities of the camera will bring improved performance and a stronger connection between your devices and the camera, and enhancements to CAP offer additional functions in the Camera Companion App. Alternatively, the browser-based Web Remote is now out of Beta status and is a great option for iOS, Android, MacOS and Windows users looking to remotely control the ALEXA Mini LF. The release notes for SUP 7.2 contain information on additional features, bug fixes and enhancements, and we highly recommend reading them before updating your camera.

Updating

ALEXA Mini LF SUP 7.2 can be installed on all previously shipped ALEXA Mini LF cameras, and we recommend updating from ALEXA Mini LF SUP 7.1.2 to SUP 7.2. However, we do not recommend updating to a new SUP in the middle of a production. Please read through the Release Notes, which contain detailed update instructions, before you update your camera.

Downdating

It is possible to downdate from ALEXA Mini LF SUP 7.2 to an older SUP. However, MVF-2 viewfinders with serial numbers above 6849 and Compact Drive 2TB units with serial numbers starting with ‘273xxxxx’ are not compatible with older ALEXA Mini LF SUPs.

Registration

If you have not done so already, please make sure you register your camera using our online customer registration. Your registration ensures that you receive information about future software updates as soon as they are available. If you register your new camera within one month of purchase, you will receive a 12-month extended warranty free of charge.
